Rory McIlroy has a new management company – his own. The newly formed Rory McIlroy Incorporated will now manage the two-time Major winner, McIlroy, who is said to have terminated his contract with Horizon Sports Management.
The five-year contract seems to have ended in less than two years since he started his association with the Dublin-based Horizon Sports.
McIlroy moved to the Horizons in October 2011 after a much-talked about split with International Sports Management run by former Tour player, Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler.
McIlroy’s move to Horizon came after the company had signed up 2010 US Open winner Graeme McDowell.
There had been rumours of the split between McIlroy and Horizon for sometime, especially since the Volvo World Matchplay in Bulgaria in May. That event was won by McDowell.
There are suggestions that the split could cost McIlroy a few millions as a payout to Horizon.
