Ahmedabad, January 12: Nagpur’s Moinuddin Malak (69-69) topped the leaderboard at the PGTI’s Pre Qualifying II for the 2018 season after finishing the second round with a total of six-under-138 at the Kensville Golf & Country Club.
A total of 30 players qualified from Pre Qualifying II for the Final Qualifying Stage as nine players were tied in 22nd position when the cut was declared at seven-over-151 at the Kensville Golf & Country Club near Ahmedabad.
Malak fired a second straight 69 which featured three birdies on his last five holes.
Ludhiana-based amateur Digraj Singh Gill, the round one leader, slipped to second place at five-under-139 after a 71 on Friday.
Three golfers shared third place at one-under-143 including Ikramuddin Shah, Ajay Baisoya and amateur Aditya Chahal.

Gulfam tops leaderboard in Pre Qualifying I; 27 qualify for Final Stage
Ahmedabad, January 9: Delhi’s Gulfam (68-67) topped the leaderboard at nine-under-135 at the end of round two of the PGTI’s Pre Qualifying I for the 2018 season being held at the Kensville Golf & Country Club near Ahmedabad.
A total of 27 players qualified from Pre Qualifying I for the Final Qualifying Stage as four players were tied in 24th position when the cut was declared at eight-over-152.
Gulfam sank six birdies at the cost of just one bogey during his second round to end up a massive seven shots clear of the rest of the field.
Sachin Chouhan (71-71) of Mhow and Ganganagar’s Sandeep Singh (68-74) were tied for second at two-under-142.
Dinesh Kumar and Venkkat Gautham were tied fourth at one-under-143.
